My Open Door Policy
Since I am a strong believer in openness and accessibility in municipal government, I will endeavour to make myself available whenever possible to all citizens of Thunder Bay through phone, fax, e-mail and my web site which I intend to use to keep the community informed on a variety of issues (I developed and maintain my own web site).
Other ways for openness with the public is to use the full potential of the Internet by placing the Council agenda on line.
Another way to reach and keep the community informed will be through the radio talk show programs and community channel programs, which I intend to use as often as possible.
My belief in accessibility and transparency of action at all levels of
community interaction extend to communication and involvement. For the past 3
years I have written a column on the Northern Ontario Business
www.northernontariobusiness.com
covering issues that are dear to us in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario. I
have also been a columnist for the Thunder Bay Post "A Window on the City" from
2000 to 2003 covering economic, social, political, and environmental issues.
